Synergy skills provide new ways for party members to come together and lend each other a hand during battle in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. These joint actions are some of the most useful skills in the game, and they can be unlocked as you increase your Party Level and grow the bonds between characters. They can range from support moves to high-powered, tag-team attacks. The defensive abilities are often the best choices, as there are plenty of other ways to deal damage. Here are the best folio synergy skills in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

    Counterfire

    Counterfire

Counterfire allows Cloud to team up with any other party member to block and reflect ranged attacks from enemies. Cloud’s specialty is close combat, so it can be tough for him to approach enemies that attack from long range. This skill gives you the chance to defend, deal damage, and close the gap in those situations.

    Bodyguard

    Bodyguard

Bodyguard can be used by both Aerith and Tifa, but it’s much more useful for Aerith. It makes allies take hits for the user as they move around and perform actions on the battlefield. Aerith gets the most use out of this skill because she often gets attacked while casting, while Tifa is a more mobile fighter who can often fend for herself.

    Slip and Slide

    Slip and Slide

Slip and Slide is a defensive skill for Tifa that functions similarly to Cloud’s Counterfire, but in melee range. Use this skill right before Tifa gets hit by a close-range attack to dodge and counterattack with Cloud, Aerith, or Yuffie. Slip and Slide can get you out of tough situations where regular blocks and dodges aren’t effective. Red XIII and Yuffie also have melee-range counter skills called Phantom Fang and Ninja Bazooka that function the same way as Slip and Slide, but they have a few other ways to avoid or mitigate damage, unlike Tifa.

    Iron Defense

    Iron Defense

Iron Defense can be used by both Barret and Red XIII, and it allows them to team up with a party member to take a shielded stance that defends against damage from all sides. This is one of Barret’s earliest skills and it’s useful throughout the entire game. It’s more useful for him because he can use it with any party member, while Red XIII can’t initiate it with Barret, for some reason. Iron Defense comes in handy if you’re ever surrounded by enemies or need to block multiple attacks in quick succession.

    Wild Charge

    Wild Charge

Wild Charge is another synergy skill that turns defense into offense. It gives Red XIII the ability to charge toward an enemy while defending against incoming attacks. It’s perfect for closing the gap against long-range fighters with Cloud or Tifa as the synergy partner. Barret has a similar skill called Mad Dash, but he can only use it with Cloud, Red XIII, and Yuffie, while Wild Charge can be used with everyone.

    Mystic Multiplication

    Mystic Multiplication

Mystic Multiplication is classified as a synergy ability--not skill--but it's still worth mentioning. This ability temporarily provides unlimited MP. Yuffie can only use it with Aerith, but that’s exactly who you’d want to give that buff to anyway. Both characters will be able to fire off support spells and magic attacks continuously without worrying about costs. Aerith has a similar synergy skill with Cait Sith called Kitty Cannonade. Both skills require you to reach Party Level 8 to unlock them, but they’re well worth the grind.
