Jason Momoa To Star In The Just Cause Movie
The Game of Thrones and Aquaman actor joins the upcoming Square Enix film.
Game of Thrones and Aquaman actor Jason Momoa will play the lead in Square Enix's upcoming Just Cause move, it was announced today, according to Variety. He will portray the character Rico Rodriguez, though other details about the story are being kept secret for now.
The Hollywood news site also reports that Brad Peyton will direct the movie. Momoa stars in the Netflix series Frontier, which is directed by Peyton. He's also directing the Rampage video game movie.

The script for the untitled Just Cause movie is being written by Master and Commander: The Far Side of the World writer John Collee.
In 2015, producer Adrian Askarieh said the movie was "close" to getting started and confirmed it would be inspired by Just Cause 3.
"Just Cause 3 has a terrific story," Askarieh said at the time. "It has Rico going back to Medici, the place of his birth and then subsequent displacement, and the murder of his family. And he goes back there to do what he does best which is to discombobulate regimes."
"And in terms of action, I think Just Cause has just as much right to be called an action movie as The Fast and Furious," he explained. "They're both outlandish."
No release date or other cast members for the Just Cause movie have been announced.
Square Enix is also making a Tomb Raider movie starring Alicia Vikander, scheduled to premiere in 2018.
