what? when did I hype it? it always looks rough especially after RE4.

I haven't been following but disappointing to hear, I was looking forward to a new entry. I'll watch reviews later to see what people had to say about it.

I honestly don't remember seeing Ghost Hype this game. Much less anyone was really excited for the reboot.

Ouch. Unfortunate but I already have way too many other games to play anyway so no big loss.

Game journos can't play games so even if it is bad disregarding it.

Can tell without even bothering to read this at some point he will complain about a difficulty.

That's my bad, Ghost always hyping these crappy games, I just assumed this was another one of his victims.

It never looked good. It would have been nice if it turned out good, but expectations were low.

Its same as Alan wake 2. part cinematic part combat part walking sim/detactive.

only Alan wake 2 is done right while this is mediocre and rough.

AW1 is a masterpiece. AW2 sucks donkey. It's even worse than Control, if you can believe that.

Couldn't care less about reviews. I wasn't expecting it to be amazing. I'll play it eventually.

Shame. A fondly remember reading long articles and having huge posters from Playstation Magazine for the original back in 2002 or so.

Graphically the game looks quite awesome. Lets hope it goes on GamePass sooner rather than later as I refuse to buy a flop lol

Second reboot, there was the 2008 Atari game that had some really, really impressive tech.

I think you're misreading. The PS1 game had Alone in the Dark: The New Nightmare, which was a reboot prior to this.

As far as I'm aware the original dos game was never released on the PS1.

I still associate Playstation Magazine with PS1.

There was also Illumination, which everyone seemingly forgot about. And rightfully so.

The Eurogamer review was written by someone who actually played the original.

It got the same score, but they made it sound a lot more appealing. I might check it out for the nostalgia alone - AitD was one of the very first videogames I played.

I don't trust reviews (and Gamesport has some of the worst) I will watch some ganeplay vids and make up my own mind.

Not that I'm counting on it but would be nice to have on of those low scoring gems only a select few can appreciate.

@kathaariancode: Well I googled it now and apparently it was Alone in the Dark 4 (technically known as " The New Nightmare") that released around may 2001.

I just remember it being advertised as "Alone in the dark".

@Mozelleple112: Yeah, I'm a big fan of the original (92) and still play it occasionally and for a second thought there was a PS version I didn't knew about.

Never been interested in the series. Not sure who still is, and why.
