Sad news for Sony. Nobody cares.

Are pc gamers just a different crowd at this point? Or was it largely just stolen? The first game was highly successful.
This is a huge flatline.

The first PlayStation games that released on PC sold just ok, but they’ve been performing worse and worse as they‘ve come out. PC is a different market. A market that’s not gonna save PlayStation or Xbox…

They will do better day and date. See Helldivers 2.
I was always told by cows that PC gamers bash Sony games because they are jealous. Told them nobody cares about Sony's one and done games propped up just by production values. It's a different market that values gameplay/mechanics over long cut-scenes or Press X to win.

Helldivers 2 is one of those “different“ games. Multiplayer focused. Streamer friendly. High replayability. A refreshing take on a proven formula. Narrative driven single player games won’t hit that same chord.

I think the PS games will do better on day 1 than if they were released 1+ years later. IMO.
It's not out yet. Dang, I thought it was out.
I enjoyed the first so will be buying the second at some stage this year. Currently playing God of War though and enjoying that overall. Then i need a break from 3rd person action games.
...My PC has been going a very good PS4/5 impression this year :P.

With Nintendo this would be a completely different story.
It would not matter if it was now, or 1 year away, a release of any of their titles would instantly sell hard, continually.
Wait, it came out?
*oh wait I see it doesn't come out until 03/21. Same day as Dragon's Dogma 2...woops, bad move marketing.

And Dragons Dogma 2 is at 6.
Oh wells.

The gameplay was mediocre despite looking stella. So, I understand PC games disinterest.
That's too bad. I really enjoyed the first one, might pick it up anyway. Then again my backlog is waaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too big right now, so maybe not.
How does it compare to first game?

I agree. Nintendo still makes video games. The narrative heavy movie games by PS and Xbox don’t really translate on PC.
I think these type of games also need to come out day and date to capitalize on their sale potential. Sony will very likely get here sooner rather then later. I’m sure a close release to Dragon’s Dogma 2 didn’t do it any favours either.

Yeah. If you look, Hi-Fi Rush has already dropped to 75th on the PS Games page after 1 day. Game is over a year old. Might have had more staying power with day one release.
Is this game even released yet?
If so, this is a perfect example of games sailing under the radar when they're released a couple years later with zero marketing..
I'm sure PC sales would be much better if these titles were released during the launch hype cycle.. Helldivers 2 is a shining example..
I almost forgot HFW is alreayd out on PC. anywhoo, PC gamers that aren't buying are missing out. Great game and possibly the best looking visuals ever.
My RTX 4090 is ready for a solid work out, which I believe it will be at 4K/120. And look and feel stunning.
However DD2 is definitely a priority of my time, unless it happens to flop. I already have 98 hrs in HFW on PS5 so I can wait...
It isn't releasing until Thursday. It's kind of stupid to bemoan the lack of preorders for a port.
Every AAA game is a port.
I rather enjoyed the first game. It wasn't a revolutionary game in any meaningful way, but I enjoyed the adjustment in gameplay to that of taking out big robotic dinos instead of other pew pew people.... But then late game got more about the pew pew people again and it was meh. Still, I'd like to play it someday when it hits a price point I like!

Didn't they initially release horizon on the same day as elden ring too? Lol
and first game with BOTW, gotta keep the trend up

Yikes.... Wouldn't want to show up to a party against botw and Elden Ring if I were a run of the mill open world game with lots of nothing burger cutscenes... Visual dramamine....
Didn't the first one do way better than the sequel, even on PlayStation? The fact that anyone wants either seems to be a testament to how broken our world is.
Terrible debut on Steam.
The $7M budget Palworld sold 15M+ copies on Steam (and still counting), whereas the $200M budget Horizon 2 would be lucky to sell even 500K copies on Steam.
PC is a very different market compared to PlayStation. Despite PC hardware being more powerful, most PC gamers don't really seem to care as much about graphics, but instead care more about performance.

I don't know if it is that PC gamers care more about performance but more that PC gamers have a greater diversity of gamers who have a variety of tastes and needs. You are correct that most don't care about graphics.
FYI, this is Aloy's real-life face model:
Western devs have a bad habit of taking an attractive model IRL and making her look unattractive in the game.
It could simply be that they're incompetent at rendering 3D models, but it's more likely that they're deliberately doing this to please a loud minority.

Sure, but that does not change the fact that Palworld was a meme game that a bunch of idiot bought just because of FOMO. The player count drop says all you need to know about it, and it's a multiplayer game. It's 95% from the peak in just over a month.
@Jag85: I'll never forgive ND for taking Tess (a hot chick in the original, Joel's sidepiece) and turning her into a granny in TLOU1 remake.
While I think people are definitely exaggerating with Aloy in HFW lol they probably have done bits to make Aloy's model less attractive.
This is what makes Stellar Blade such a breath of fresh air.
@howmakewood:
HZD - launched with Zelda:BOTW (contender for game of the generation)
HFW - launched with Elden Ring (contender for game of the generation)
HFW:Burning Shores - launched with Zelda:TOTK (contender for game of the generation (I know it still ended up losing to BG3 but 96@MC...))
HFW (PC) - launched with Dragon's Dogma 2............. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ???????????

The pic in the OP is an exaggeration, but that they considered a model similar to that at all for the sequel before the huge backlash really tells you all about their agenda. It's long been obvious.
